About A Good Book Hunt

Hi, I’m Lexi!

I’m a book-loving mama of three adventurous boys and a Christian children’s book reviewer with a heart for family discipleship.

Reading together is one of my favorite ways to connect with my kids and share the hope of the gospel. But I know firsthand how hard it can be to find books that are not only engaging, but also aligned with biblical truth. For years, I was bringing home book after book—only to quietly slip many of them right back into the return bin because they didn’t reflect what I wanted shaping my kids’ hearts.

I knew the Christian books I grew up with… but where were the newer ones? The fresh voices? The beautifully written, theologically sound stories for today’s families?

So I started digging. And what I found surprised me: an entire world of phenomenal Christian children’s books—more than I ever realized existed. Books that pointed kids to Jesus, honored Scripture, and sparked deep, meaningful conversations.

At the same time, I was still frustrated with the options we kept finding at our local library. And I knew so many other moms were tired of sifting, skimming, and second-guessing every book that came into their home. For many, the idea of sorting through shelves of children’s books to find the good ones sounds… well, miserable.

Find Their Next Book

That’s where this little corner of the internet began—first as a resource for my own family, and now as a place to help your family too.

On this site, you’ll find carefully curated book recommendations for kids and parents, helpful library tips, and family-friendly book deals—all through a gospel-centered lens. I’m passionate about helping families discover stories that point hearts to God and nurture Christlike character, all rooted in the grace I rely on daily.

Because here’s what I believe:
God gives each of us unique passions and giftings. We don’t have to be all things to our families—we can rely on one another. Just like you might turn to a friend who loves cooking for the best recipes, you can come here for trusted book guidance without doing all the digging yourself.

Whether you need a book for your toddler, your 11-year-old nephew, or a discipleship tool for your whole family, I want this to be your go-to place. A place where you know everything has been thoughtfully reviewed, prayed over, and aligned with Scripture.

I’m deeply passionate about helping kids not only love reading, but love God’s Word.

Whether you're building your home library or simply looking for your next bedtime read, I’m here to support you with resources that encourage meaningful conversations and a love for truth-filled stories.

Let’s raise readers who love Jesus—one page at a time.

What I Believe

My goal is to help you find gospel-centered, trustworthy resources for your family and the books I recommend reflect my beliefs. Keep scrolling to learn more about what I believe.

The Biblical Foundation Behind Every Recommendation

Core Beliefs

These are the foundational beliefs of my faith and guide how I evaluate and recommend books.

I believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God - fully trustworthy and authoritative. (2 Timothy 3:16 - 17

I believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-20)

I believe that Jesus came down to earth, fully God and fully man; born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day, conquering sin and death so that we might have eternal life with Him. (1 Corinthians 15: 3-4)

I believe all people are sinners and can be saved only by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:23)

I believe Jesus will return and God will make all things new - a new heaven and a new earth where He dwells with His people forever. (Revelation 21: 1-4)

I believe all humanity will stand before God in judgement. Those who are in Christ will enter eternal life with Him, and those who reject Him will face eternal separation from God. (John 3:36; Revelation 20: 11-15)

The Biblical Foundation Behind Every Recommendation

Secondary Beliefs

Though not salvation issues, these beliefs are deeply relevant in today’s world and come up in many books I review.

Abortion: I affirm the sanctity of unborn life. Every human being is made in the image of God and has dignity and worth from conception onward. (Psalm 139: 13-16; Jeremiah 1: 5)

Marriage, Gender, & Sexual Identity: I believe marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy belongs within that covenant. I uphold what Scripture teaches about sexuality and gender, while also affirming that every person is made in God’s image and should be treated with dignity, kindness, and love. (Genesis 1:27; John 8:1-11)

Science & Faith: God is Creator of all things. Scientific discovery can bring insight into His world, but it does not override the truth of His Word. (Colossians 1: 16-17; Psalm 19:1)

Social Justice: I believe that true biblical justice produces the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—while counterfeit social justice produces only suspicion, bitterness, and division. I believe we are called to see and love each person as a unique image-bearer of God, not through the lens of group identity, prejudice, or assumption. Justice rooted in Christ engages hearts and fosters reconciliation, mercy, and humility. (Micah 6:8; Proverbs 31: 8-9)
